Easy and cost effective.
See how MokaFive delivers faster value than server-based VDI, traditional software distribution, and standalone client hypervisors.
“So even with XenClient available, [a desktop engineer at a major mobile device company] considers virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) an online-only product and supplements MokaFive’s technology for users who need offline access to corporate desktops from their own devices.”
—Bridget Botelho, Senior Site Editor, TechTarget
1. VDI the way it should be
Without the cost, complexity or mandatory network connection.
“We looked at server-based VDI, but the business case was just not there and laptop users complained because they couldn't go offline. MokaFive was a slam dunk.”
—Todd Beakey, R-Speed Incorporated
Server-based VDI solutions, such as VMware View or Citrix XenDesktop, consolidate and virtualize desktops into the data center for centralized management. However, this approach requires significant additional server infrastructure, SAN storage, management consoles, and third-party integration.
Unlike server-based VDI which runs centrally on servers, MokaFive is client-based and runs locally, on each users’ machine. This greatly simplifies the solution, reduces cost, and allows users to access their desktops whether online or offline.
Minimal Infrastructure
With MokaFive, virtual desktops run locally on each endpoint, minimizing infrastructure cost and complexity.
2. More efficient than software distribution
Update one golden image vs thousands of physical PCs.
With traditional software distribution systems, such as Altiris or LANdesk, you can manage applications and patches through a single console. However, these tools are prone to failure because users interfere with agents or they customize their desktops in incompatible ways.
With MokaFive, instead of patching thousands of PCs individually, you edit one golden image. MokaFive distributes differential updates to all machines, ensuring that users’ images are bit-for-bit clones of the golden image, so success rates are significantly higher. Also, all updates—however many, large, or complex—take only seconds to apply.
3. More complete than client hypervisors
Centrally secure and update virtual images.
Standalone client hypervisors, such as Parallels or VMPlayer, can allow a corporate image to run on different hardware. However, these tools lack central management and policy enforcement capabilities, and others such as XenClient, have limited hardware compatibility.
MokaFive embeds a client hypervisor such as Vmware Player (MokaFive is architected to handle any hypervisor) and wraps it with enterprise security, manageability, and a user-friendly interface. MokaFive adds over 80 policy controls, encryption, personalization, and enterprise integration with features like AD and two-factor authentication servers.
