Domain Join Packet Creation Fails with Error 1326   « Go Back

Issue
When creating domain join packets within Creator, you get a 1326 error and the domain join process fails.

Possible Causes
Error 1326 is being reported by your domain controller and states that you are using a bad username or bad password. Common causes could be:

  • On Windows XP: you are using the domain\username syntax. Try using just the username.

  • Password is incorrect.

On Windows XP: Try manually joining the image to the domain (by going to 'My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Computer Name') with the credentials used in Creator. If the domain join succeeds, it should succeed in Creator.

On Windows 7: Try manually joining the domain using the djoin.exe command.
