Summary
With Layering, users can rejuvenate their LivePC to recover from issues. However, if your image uses Windows Security Essentials anti-virus, you'll want to have it store it's signature files and metadata in the user layer, such that it won't be erased during a rejuvenation. This will maintain the user's image security even if they rejuvenate the image.


Pre-Requisites



Steps

Add the following lines to admin.pol in your image and republish.

• file user \programdata\microsoft\microsoft antimalware
• file user \programdata\microsoft\microsoft security client
• value user \machine\software\microsoft\microsoft antimalware\Scan\\LastScanRun
• value user \machine\software\microsoft\microsoft antimalware\signature updates\\SignaturesLastChecked
