Enabling Alternative DNS to resolve from host   « Go Back
In the event you can't resolve domain name inside the LivePC, you can try enabling the "Alternative DNS lookup (from host)" policy. This policy will resolve domain name from the host's configured dns servers.

Method 1 - Enable by Policy

1. Login to the Management console.
2. Select Livepc Policies from the Policies tab.
3. Select the name of the LivePC and the Group.
4. Locate the Alternative DNS policy, and select enble


5. Click Save.

Method 2 - Enable by file

1. Start the image from the Creator.
2. Create the following empty file inside the LivePC.
“C:\ProgramData\mokafive\enablednschange.txt”
3. Publish the Livepc.


The method to use depends on how flexible you want to be able to manage it.
  • Enabling it by policy allows you to configure it for a set of users and can easily be disabled by simply changing the policy.
  • Enabling it by creating the enablednschange.txt file applies to everyone using that image and requires a new version published to disable it.
