Configuring two MokaFive Primary Image Stores for HA

With MokaFive we are able to install and configure two Primary Image Stores behind a load balancer to support High Availability requirements.

1) Install second Primary Image Store
2) Configure Image Stores for High Availability

Support for High-Availability Image Stores
MokaFive supports running two Image Stores behind a load balancer for high-availability.

When using a load balancer for these redundant primary image stores, the image stores must be “made aware” of each other. Then, when publishing to the image stores, both must be available for a successful write (e.g. if you attempt to publish while one is offline, the publish will fail).
High-Availability set-up is done through iConfig (https://imagestoreURL/iconfig) as follows:
· After installing both Image Stores (make sure DNS is properly configured for Image Store names)
· Go to the Settings>Advanced tab of First Image Store server
· Click Add Server link at bottom of page
· Add the Server URL and Key ID of Image Store 2 in Image Store 1
· Click Test and then Add
· Repeat process in iConfig of 2nd Image Store with Image Store 1 info

Support for Primary and Replica Image Stores Behind a Single Load Balancer
Building upon the HA use case described above, you may also use your load balancer across primary and replica image stores.

Let’s look at the additional steps required to load balance across the two HA (primary) Image Stores and a Replica. When balancing across a primary and a replica, the replica needs to be configured to publish to the primary. Set-up for this is done through iConfig as follows:

· Go to the Settings>Advanced tab (in Replica’s iConfig)
· Enable “Replica publish to primary”
